STANLEY Security Case Studies


Barton Moss is a secure home for the rehabilitation of young people. The organisation has been in operation for more than 10 years and employs 80 people. The site has 20 beds and is split into three units with care staff working between all units.

The Requirement

It is a vital requirement within the care industry that staff are able to call for immediate assistance.

Barton Moss’s previous staff system was inefficient leaving both staff and the young people in their care vulnerable to potentially violent situations.

In order to provide the highest level of care, Barton Moss required a complete security system that could be customised specifically for its site and was fully supported by a team of qualified maintenance engineers.

The Solution

STANLEY Security installed a fully integrated solution, combining Minder Staff Protection, Two-Way Speech Paging and CCTV.

The STANLEY Blick Minder mobiles are integrated with the infra-red detection and perimeter fence alarms and internal intercom systems. This ensures all staff are immediately aware of any emergencies or threats from intruders and are able to respond instantly to assistance calls from the young people they care for.

The Minder system’s primary function is to protect staff and young people from potentially violent situations within the care unit.

The management at Barton Moss has seen the dramatic benefit of staff monitoring and timekeeping as the
Minder units track individuals and ensures they are clocked in and out of the charging racks. In addition, the system gives the added protection to staff from allegations of misconduct.
