STANLEY Security Case Studies

The new Dykebar Acute Admissions Unit at Dykebar Hospital is part of the Renfrewshire Healthcare NHS Trust. It provides care to individuals who, due to their mental state, are sent there directly from the courts or transferred from prison.

The Requirement

Given the nature of the patients, who can be threatening, the Dykebar Acute Admissions Unit required a reliable Staff Protection System.

Staff working in the unit needed a discreet system, which would enable them to call for assistance when required. It was also important that the system was able to verify that their call had been received.

The Solution

STANLEY already provides the Renfrewshire NHS Trust with a Minder System in the Arran and Bute mental health wards, which are attached to Dykebar Hospital.

The staff were already extremely confident and happy using Minder and it was therefore no surprise that the Trust wanted the same system in the Acute Admissions Unit.

To make the system in the new unit even more effective and efficient, STANLEY advised the integration of the Minder System with an anti-vandal Nurse Call System.

In total, around 30 Minder mobiles, with ripcord and vibrate features, were provided along with 130 anti-vandal Nurse Call units.

Integrating these systems provided the Dykebar Acute Admission Unit with a solution that met all of their requirements.
