STANLEY Security Case Studies

Background

Millennium & Copthorne Hotel Group is a global hotel company which owns, manages and/or operates 120 hotels in 15 countries around the world, including 20 in the UK from Aberdeen to Plymouth.

It continues to invest in its hotel portfolio, with new site development and upgrades to existing hotels ongoing. For the past nine years, STANLEY Security has worked with the Group to implement a brand standard internal communications solution for all employees.

The Requirement

With four new hotels recently completed in the south of England at Slough, Reading, Mayfair and Gatwick, and real-time employee communication essential, STANLEY was again specified to roll-out its proven cordless telephone system, interfaced, where necessary, with other security features.

The Solution

STANLEY has installed its DECT cordless telephone system which allows the hotel management to keep in continuous contact with key staff, including housekeeping and maintenance teams, wherever they are in the hotel.

The system allows immediate access to essential information and ensures the hotel is more responsive to its customers’ needs.

As with several previous Millennium and Copthorne Hotel sites in the roll-out programme, this solution is also fully integrated to fire panels and fire alarm systems and to panic buttons in health club and swimming pool areas so guests can call for assistance if required.

Lone worker staff protection is also a major issue for large hotels, particularly at night when the staff/ guest ratio is greatly reduced, and so the system is also integrated with personal panic alarms, carried for example by room service or maids.

As well as offering these communication systems as standard throughout the hotels, STANLEY is also able
to add-on bespoke security options, so, for example, at some hotels the DECT system can be interfaced with door alarms or with boiler alarms to alert to any maintenance problems.
